Jean Harpel, MSN, RN, GCNS

Operations Manager Aging Services
Jean Harpel is presently the Operations Manager of the Aging Services team at ECRI where she provides environment-of-care safety, security, quality and risk management consultation to senior living provider organizations across the US. She educates leadership and staff on how to implement Risk Management systems within their communities. She works with provider organizations to help reduce future risk and harm to their residents as well as helping achieve focus on developing a culture of safety and accountability. She has developed institutional based learning programs utilizing electronic media, traditional lecture, and just-in-time activities that have focused on safe and efficient care delivery. She has written, implemented and reviewed policies and procedures for continuing care retirement communities and home care providers. She has presented at workshops and conferences on a wide array of risk management topics for aging services providers and healthcare professionals for the past twenty years.
Jana O’Hara, MSN, RN, CPHFH, CPHQ, CPPS

Director of Consulting and Education, Institute for Safe Medication Practices
Jana has held a variety of clinical leadership, quality and safety roles, including leading patient safety at the health system level for an academic and county health system in San Antonio, TX. She received her BSN from Biola University, MSN and a graduate certificate in nursing education from the University of Texas at El Paso, and is currently pursuing a DNP from Texas Woman’s University. She is a certified professional in human factors in healthcare, healthcare quality, and patient safety.
