Psychological First Aid for Healthcare Peer Support Teams
The Psychological First Aid Course is designed to train healthcare peer responders as part of an organization’s peer support program. Attendees will dive into the Psychological First Aid concepts and learn the step-by-step process for peer supporters to follow when providing aid after a challenging incident. A combination of didactic and case study-based training is used to illustrate key concepts of Psychological First Aid. The course includes ample opportunity to participate in hands-on practice through mock cases and subsequent feedback on critical skills. At completion, the learner will be a trained peer supporter with the ability to use lessons learned to build a Psychological First Aid for Healthcare Peer Support Team.
